Prepare to add another streaming service to your subscription list this fall.

Tyler Perry is partnering with Viacom’s BET Networks to launch BET Plus, the newest cable-specific streaming service to join the fold, per Variety. And audiences won’t have to wait long at all for its launch, as it is set to debut in autumn.

No word yet on how much BET Plus will cost for its monthly plan(s), but what we do know is that the service will boast a library of Perry’s films and television series, including a new show created by Perry. BET Plus will also take over that First Wives Club reboot series that was first announced for Viacom’s Paramount Network in 2018 (insert those “you don’t own me” dance GIFs here). A new series from Will Packer (producer of Girls Trip and Ride Along) is also expected to become part of the BET Plus original content slate.

BET Networks president Scott Mills said that he believes BET Plus will be successful despite the crowded market of streaming services that will also debut this year (including Disney+ and WarnerMedia) because of its unique library of black entertainment.

“African-Americans are the leading consumers of streaming services, with higher SVOD adoption rates than other consumers, which is why we’re so excited to launch a premium product for this underserved audience. BET Plus is a natural extension of BET’s linear network, which has been the leading home of black culture for decades,” Mills said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Perry said that he is optimistic about his partnership with the new service. “I’ve paid attention to my audience and what works for them and, for that reason, I’m very excited not only about the idea of partnering with BET to create new and exciting content, but also about the idea of giving people a personalized experience through the ability to curate the content they love to consume,” Perry said. “On a personal level, this will also be the first time I’ll be working in areas like unscripted and variety television, which will afford me the opportunity to work in fresh, creative ways with new voices and to discover new talent.”

BET Plus debuts in the fall of 2019.
