Claire Danes‘ real-life husband Hugh Dancy is joining the cast of the eighth and final season of Homeland.

Showtime announced on Tuesday that Dancy will guest-star in multiple episodes of the show’s final bow as John Zabel, a Washington consultant who acts as a foreign policy advisor to the President of the United States (Beau Bridges) and becomes something of an opponent to Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin), who is now National Security Advisor.

The new season will also find Danes’ Carrie Mathison recovering from her stint in the Russian gulag, which has left her memory fractured. This proves problematic for her and Saul, who needs her expertise as he engages with the Taliban as part of the new administration’s effort to end the war in Afghanistan. In order to complete the task, Saul will ask her to ignore medical advice and join him on the perilous journey.

Homeland Season 8 will mark the first time Danes and Dancy have shared the screen since the 2007 film Evening, which is what they were filming when they first met.

Homeland‘s final season is currently in production.
