TORONTO — The Raptors announced that guard Kay Felder, who was playing for the team’s G League affiliate, has been released following his arrest on a charge of domestic violence Monday morning.

Raptors 905 released a statement Monday afternoon:

“On Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, Raptors 905 guard Kay Felder was charged by police in connection with an allegation of domestic violence. Raptors 905 have waived Felder, effective immediately. As this matter is before the courts, Raptors 905 will not comment further.”

Felder, 23, had been averaging 18.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.5 assists in 11 games for Raptors 905 this season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers paid $2.4 million to acquire Felder, a 5-foot-9 point guard, from the Atlanta Hawks after they had selected him late in the second round of the 2016 NBA draft. Since then, Felder has played in 58 games with the Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons, averaging 3.8 points and 1.3 assists per game.

TMZ first reported the news of Felder’s arrest.
