A Long Island Rail Road employee was injured after a train that wasn’t in service derailed on Saturday, a spokesperson said.

The train was traveling through the West Side Yard, a train yard on the west side of Manhattan, on Saturday evening when two of the cars in the middle derailed, a spokesperson for the LIRR said.

No customers were on board, but an employee on board was left with back pain after the derailment, according to the spokesperson.

LIRR is currently working to repair track damage caused by the derailment, but service hasn’t been affected so far, the spokesperson said.

It’s not clear yet whether the incident will affect service on Monday. 

The derailment is under investigation.
