A hotel in Dublin is being praised after its employees made extra-special accommodations for a Muslim fasting for Ramadan.

According to a Twitter user, Ibis Dublin Hotel, which is part of AccorHotels, laid out breakfast for the social media user’s colleague at 2:30 a.m.

The colleague had initially just asked for a snack ahead of his daily Ramadan fast, but the hotel went above and beyond.

“A muslim colleague asked our hotel if they could give him a snack before he began his fast,” Twitter user @Hemant wrote. “They said ok, please come down at 2.30 am. When he went, he found a FULL BUFFET BREAKFAST laid out. The hotel said it was rhe least they could do. @Accorhotels be proud of Ibis Dublin”

For Muslims, the monthlong celebration of Ramadan commemorates Allah, the Arabic name for God, giving the first verses of the Quran, the Muslim holy book, to the Prophet Muhammad in 610 A.D.

For 30 days, Muslims around the world do not eat from dawn to dusk, pray intensely and gather for nightly feasts to break the fast. Ramadan began May 5 and lasts through sundown June 4.

After four days, the tweet describing the hotel staff’s kindness had more than 100,000 likes and nearly 20,000 retweets.

The social media poster went on to say: “He was the only person there. Humanity is still alive amidst all the hatred @Accorhotels”
