The 100 might be coming to a close this week, but it sounds like the show as a whole won’t be winding down any time soon.

The CW president Mark Pedowitz told reporters today at the Television Critics Association summer press tour that he doesn’t see The 100 nearing its end. “I doubt it actually,” Pedowitz said when asked whether Season 6 would best the series’ last. “Jason [Rothenberg] did a remarkable job of revitalizing the show, and I hope it can go on for a long time.”

More evidence that next year’s season won’t be the last is the fact that The CW has recently set a pretty good precedent of informing showrunners and fans that their show is being renewed for a final season ahead of time. “We’re pretty good at giving people enough time to wrap up their shows,” Pedowitz continued, “This year, iZombie, Crazy Ex and Jane, we consciously worked with the executive producers so that they could tell the story in the right way they want to do it.”

The 100 Finale: Can Bellamy Forgive Clarke’s Betrayal?

Given that The 100′s Season 6 renewal didn’t come with a “final season” notice attached to it, it’s probably safe to assume that The 100 will survive to see Season 7.

The 100 finale airs Tuesday at 8/7c on The CW.
