Before we get into the social media feud between Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Jef Holm, it requires some backstory.
Arie and Jef became friends on Emily Maynard‘s season of The Bachelorette. (Jef got engaged to Emily [they’ve since split], and Arie was the runner-up). They remained friends until they got in a fight at Sean and Catherine Lowe‘s wedding in 2014 over how Jef was treating his date. They have very much not been friends since then.
On New Year’s Day 2018, the day Arie’s season of The Bachelor premiered (and the day after Arie reached out to Lauren Burnham and started their reconciliation), Jef Holm tweeted, “Doesn’t matter who gets out of the limo…I’ll give 5k to the charity of @chrisbharrison‘s choice if @ariejr lasts 1 year with anyone.”
Fast forward one year and one day. Arie and Lauren are not only still together, they’re getting married on Jan. 12 and have a baby on the way. And Arie has not forgotten what Jef said.
“Pay up @jefholm… Put that trust fund money into something positive instead of bottle service. Asshole,” Arie tweeted. (The “trust fund” crack is because Jef has wealthy parents.)

Chris Harrison has not yet said what charity he’d like Jef to donate to.
We eagerly await Jef’s response.
