Police say a missing 9-year-old Bronx girl last seen with her older stepsister Monday morning, possibly heading to a local swimming pool, has been found safe after the sisters got lost on a train.

The NYPD asked for the public’s help Tuesday afternoon finding Janiyah Carr, who was last seen at her Prospect Avenue home in Melrose at around 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Sources said Carr left home with her stepsister but the two never made it to their destination. Carr was reported missing when her mother tried to call the stepsister on her cellphone and didn’t get a response.

Hours after sending the advisory, the NYPD said Carr and her stepsister were found safe. The two had gotten lost on a train, but no additional details were given on how and where they were found.
