A Million Little Things Sneak Peek: Gary Goes on the Hunt for Barbara Morgan

OK, we thought we were close to finding out who Barbara Morgan is on A Million Little Things before, but now we truly are on the hunt for this mystery woman! TV Guide has an exclusive sneak peek of Thursday’s episode where Gary (James Roday) tries to track down Barbara to a specific address.
When Gary arrives at his destination, he doesn’t find Barbara (or at least he doesn’t find anyone who owns up to being her. I don’t trust anyone anymore) but a Mrs. Nelson, played by Drea de Matteo, who will be a recurring character through the end of the season. Mrs. Nelson claims to have no idea who Barbara is, but she does know Jon (Ron Livingston), which means we really are getting close to solving this thing.
Executive producer DJ Nash was able to confirm that answers are coming sooner rather than later. “You will find out who she is over the next few episodes,” Nash told TV Guide at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Tuesday. “It culminates in the finale when you find out a very big backstory about her history and Jon’s history and perhaps their history together.”

The finale is just four episodes away, and Nash revealed that Barbara’s identity will have a lot to do with why Jon made the tragic decision to take his own life. However, it won’t be the complete reason for his decision, because the show wants to stick to the truth that no one kills themselves over one particular issue.
“Jon’s story is complicated and you will learn a lot more about it in the finale,” Nash teased. “Why someone takes their own life is never just one thing. It’s a million little things…A major stone in Jon’s life is revealed in the finale, and that does appear to be the day he broke. I don’t for a second want to suggest that’s the reason why because I don’t want to be insensitive to the people who have lost someone to suicide.”
