The official trailer for Netflix’s Alexa & Katie has arrived and it will probably make you cry.
The heartwarming teen sitcom centers around best friends Alexa and Katie who eagerly anticipate the start their freshman year of high school despite one major complication: Alexa has been diagnosed with cancer.
In the first look at the new series, Alexa struggles with being known as the “cancer girl” at school and attempts to live a normal life while undergoing treatment. She won’t be alone, however, because her BFF Katie will be with her every step of the way, even shaving her head in solidarity. If that doesn’t bring on the waterworks, I don’t know what will!
The series, which looks to make you laugh and shed a few tears, also stars Saved by the Bell alum Tiffani Thiessen as Alexa’s mother Lori. It was created by Hannah Montana writer Heather Wordham and will see Malcolm in the Middle‘s Matthew Carlson serve as showrunner.
Alexa & Katie heads to Netflix on Friday, March 23.
