Hulu’s astronaut drama The First stars Sean Penn as the space jockey leading the first manned mission to Mars and Designated Survivor‘s late First Lady Natascha McElhone as the CEO of the company spearheading the mission. But getting into space isn’t the actual goal of the series; the character drama looks at what these astronauts have to reconcile before they leave to space. This is Beau Willimon‘s first series since he created Netflix’s House of Cards.
Forever heads to Amazon with little about it known, and that’s by design. The plot has been shrouded in a veil of secrecy since it was announced, because creators Alan Yang and Matthew Hubbard wants viewers to experience every twist and turn of the dramedy fresh. Here’s what we do know: Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph star as a married couple whose routine life is upended when they decide to change the site of their annual vacation.
