Boulder police have called off the search for an 83-year-old man with Parkinson’s disease after finding a body outside the home where he was reported missing.

Richard Alber had reportedly left his home on Kalmia Avenue on foot Thursday afternoon and had not been seen since, according to a news release.

Police found a man matching the description of Alber, who has difficulty walking and needs to take medication, in a window well outside the home shortly after 9 a.m. Friday. The man was dead when police found him.

Police are not identifying the man they found until they receive a positive identification from the Boulder County Coroner’s Office and notify the family. Foul play isn’t suspected. Boulder police had used a drone and tracking dogs Thursday night to search Alber’s neighborhood, and sent out a reverse-911 call to homes in the area asking residents to look for him.
