If you haven’t seen Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi‘s 2014 film What We Do in the Shadows, close your laptop/turn off your phone/stop looking over that guy’s shoulder who is reading this on the bus and watch it right now. Then you will see why we are so excited for FX’s TV adaptation of the comedy about vampires living in today’s world (and doing a bad job of it).

Today, appropriately on Halloween, we’re blessed with two first looks at the series, and both show that the movie’s absurdist comedy has made its way into the series. In the first clip (above), pale vamp Nandor (Kayvan Novak) clearly isn’t up to date on the availability of Apple Pay when his human assistant Guillermo (Harvey Guillen) tries to buy something at a convenience store.

In the second, Guillermo, Nandor and Nadja (Matt Berry, the funniest dude on Earth) wait for virgins to arrive for God knows what, and Guillermo forgets a key no-no with the bloodsucking undead.

Look, both of these clips are only 15 seconds long and they’re still the funniest thing I’ve seen all week. And that’s even without Berry getting to use his baritone buffoonery to knock us off our chairs. This is going to be a good one, folks.

What We Do in the Shadows premieres next spring on FX.
