Game of Thrones: Did Drogon Take Daenerys’ Body to the Red Priestess for Resurrection?

Game of Thrones fans are still deep in mourning for Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), who died in the series finale after Jon Snow (Kit Harington) stabbed her to prevent more bloodshed. She bled out in a matter of seconds right in front of the Iron Throne, and that seemed to be the end of the story for Daenerys Stormborn, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons.

However, a fan theory speculating that Daenerys could be alive and well is starting to gain traction online. Moments after Daenery’s death, Drogon swooped in to destroy the Iron Throne, spare Jon Snow’s life, and fly off with Daenerys’ body for parts unknown. During Bran’s (Isaac Hempstead Wright) first Small Council meeting, his councilors had no news of Drogon’s whereabouts, but Sam (John Bradley) did say he was last spotted flying east towards Volantis. When Daenerys was ruling over Meereen, she gained the favor of the Red Priests and Priestesses of Essos. High Priestess Kinvara (Ania Bukstein), in particular, declared her belief that Daenerys was “the one who was promised.” Fans have theorized that Drogon was actually taking Daenerys’ body back to Volantis to hand it over to Kinvara, who would undoubtedly try to bring Daenerys back to life, if only to fulfill that part of the prophecy.

LISTEN, drogon took Dany to kinvara to get resurrected but essos don’t know abt that. Daario will get an army and unite the Dothraki and unsullied to avenge their queen. As soon as they are about to enter KL they hear drogon and on top of his is Dany!!

It’s a bit of a stretch, sure, but if you’re too crushed to believe that Dany really did die for good in the Game of Thrones series finale, this is definitely the fan theory for you. Then we can all just believe that she and Drogon lived out happy, peaceful lives in Essos — maybe with hunky Daario (Michiel Huisman) in tow — rather than returning to Westeros, which had been an awful place for both of them.
