This was a week full of holiday festivities, snow in the south, acts of charity and early presents. Let’s recap, shall we?
In a moment straight out of history’s greatest Christmas movie “The Year Without a Santa Claus,” it snowed in Southtown Mississippi! (OK, it was fake snow.) President Donald Trump did a last-minute swing through the state ahead of its Senate runoff. Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith won the election, despite controversy.
It’s lit! “It” being the National Christmas Tree, of course. You’re officially behind on your holiday decorating, America.
Outgoing House Speaker Paul Ryan got an early holiday present from the Budget Committee, which he chaired for four years. Ever since that Tom Brady court sketch, I’m sure everyone who gets their portrait done holds their breath a little bit.
Bill and Hillary are taking it on the road. It worked for Beyoncé and her husband, so why wouldn’t it work for the Clintons? Right? A paid speaking tour is nice work if you can get it.
And in the spirit of the holidays, first lady Melania Trump went to assemble comfort kits for the troops. Giving is always better than getting.
