In a gritty new look at Season 2 of Marvel’s Luke Cage, Luke has finally embraced his status as Harlem’s protector and is enjoying the fame when he’s caught off-guard by a slick new figure who literally knocks him back to Earth, rendering him unconscious. Even worse, that less-than-stellar moment is captured on video and goes viral, leaving Luke publicly embarrassed.

The dangerous man in the fancy suit who took down Luke is none another than John McIver (Mustafa Shakir), the criminal mastermind who will end up being Season 2’s big bad. In the comics, he also goes by the name Bushmaster and has squared off against both Luke Cage and the Iron Fist. Possessing similar abilities to Luke when it comes to super strength and being impervious to bullets, it looks like our hoodie donning hero has finally met his match.
Luckily for Luke, he won’t be alone in this difficult fight. After her arm was cut off by Bakuto (Ramón Rodríguez) in Marvel’s The Defenders, Misty Knight (Simone Missick) is back on the streets with a shiny new bionic prosthetic! And while neither hero can agree on who’s the lead and who’s the sidekick, there’s one thing they can’t deny: they make a pretty good team.
