Two suspects have been arrested in Montrose County, accused of firing multiple random gunshots at homes from a moving vehicle.
The incident happened Monday in the Chipeta Road area, according to the sheriff’s office. No injuries were reported.
Investigators tracked down a vehicle based on witness descriptions and attempted to stop it. But the driver took off. After a short pursuit, driver Adrian Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of reckless endangerment, reckless driving, speeding, driving under restraint, disregard of a traffic control device, eluding and resisting arrest. Gonzalez bailed out of jail shortly after his arrest.
Investigators with a warrant searched Gonzalez’s impounded vehicle and found cocaine, methamphetamine and a firearm believed to be used in the drive-by shootings. Then Gonzalez was arrested on charges of suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful distribution, manufacturing or sale of a controlled substance, with special offender status.
A second suspect, a juvenile, also was arrested and is being charged with felony menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, possession of a handgun by a juvenile and reckless endangerment.
