A New York man and woman pleaded guilty for pimping out three young women, as young as 15 years old, as far back as 2013, prosecutors announced Friday.
Terrance Jackman, 37, of Springfield Gardens, and Zulay Guerrero, 36, of Saint Albans pleaded guilty Thursday after being indicted twice, according to Chief Assistant District Attorney John M. Ryan, on behalf of Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown.
Jackman pleaded guilty to two counts of sex trafficking in satisfaction of both indictments, while Guerrero pleaded guilty to fourth-degree conspiracy and third-degree promoting prostitution.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 8.
Jackman faces up to 12 years in prison and Guerrero faces up to four years in prison, according to the district attorney’s office.
Prosecutors say, citing court records, that the two two young women – then ages 15 and 23 – were forced to trade sex for cash in Queens and elsewhere by both Jackman and Guerrero at various times between Feb. 1, 2013, and March 1, 2017, and to turn over all of the money they made to Jackman. On one occasion, while parked in a vehicle sometime between May 1, 2016, and Oct. 1, 2016, Jackman stabbed the then-21-year-old victim in the knee with a knife, prosecutors say. They add that despite needing medical attention, she was forced to engage in prostitution that night.
In the second case, Jackman allegedly met a 20-year-old woman at a nightclub on June 25, 2017, and offered to give her a ride home, but instead took her to an address in Queens County and told her she was going to work for him as a prostitute, prosecutors say. The pair allegedly took pictures of the victim and posted them on backpage.com to advertise the woman as a prostitute.
Prosecutors say that on June 30, 2017, the victim was driven a location to have sex with a stranger for money. While there, she allegedly informed the man that she had been kidnapped and he let her escape. The victim immediately called 911 and said she had been kidnapped by a pimp, prosecutors say.
