Rebel Wilson Is 17 Lbs Away From Goal Weight, Avoiding Candy

Resisting temptation! Rebel Wilson is defying her sugar cravings as she continues to work toward her weight loss goals.

The Pitch Perfect star, 40, shared a photo via Instagram on Friday, August 28, of herself wearing a body-hugging blue dress.

“Thanks for all the love so far on my ‘Year of Health’ journey – when I was reaching for the candies last night after dinner I thought to myself ‘hmmmm…better not’ and had a bottle of water instead x 8kg’s to go until I hit my goal,” she captioned the post. “Hopefully I can do it by the end of the year x.” (8 kilograms is equal to 17 pounds.)

Wilson first opened up about her weight loss journey in May when she shared a photo of herself wearing a Victoria’s Secret sweatsuit mid workout.

“Even if you have to crawl towards your goals, keep going x it will be worth it. Try and give a little bit of effort each day,” she captioned the post. “I know some days are frustrating as hell, you feel like giving up, you get annoyed at the lack of progress … but good things are coming your way.”

The Isn’t It Romantic star added that she wants to lose 75 kilograms, which equates to 165 pounds.

“I’ll be honest with you guys — with my ‘Year of Health’ mission, I’m trying to get to 75kg’s and career-wise, [I] am trying to get one of my movies into production before the end of the year!” Wilson wrote.

The Australia native has been showing off her slimmer figure via Instagram in recent months. Wilson’s personal trainer Gunnar Peterson told Us Weekly in March 2019 that the actress isn’t afraid to work hard for the body she wants.

“[Rebel] never misses [a workout],” the celebrity trainer said at the time.“Comes in even on travel days and right when she gets back. She is locked in!”

He added that Wilson’s fitness routine includes “lots of strength work with dynamic intervals spliced throughout.”

Peterson explained, “Think sled work, Technogym’s SkillRun treadmill with sled and parachute protocols, focus mitts, moving kicks to pads, rope work, vertical rope work, sledgehammers … Any and everything to keep her body guessing and her mind engaged!”
