Despite re-entering the NBA bubble to start quarantine this weekend, Indiana Pacers All-Star 7-footer Domantas Sabonis isn’t expected to be available to rejoin the active roster in the near future, sources told ESPN on Saturday.

Sabonis left the Orlando campus on July 17 to rehab plantar fasciitis on his left foot. Sources told ESPN that it isn’t believed Sabonis has been able to participate in basketball activities in that timeframe.

Pacers coach Nate McMillan confirmed Saturday that Sabonis was returning to campus, and sources told ESPN that he will need to pass four consecutive days of coronavirus testing, beginning Sunday.

“He will go into quarantine for a few days, so even though he is here, it will be a few days before we can even see him,” McMillan said on Fox Sports Indiana.

The Pacers are trailing the Miami Heat 2-0 in a first-round Eastern Conference Playoff Series. Game 3 is being played Saturday afternoon.

Sabonis, 24, was chosen for his first NBA All-Star Game this season. He signed a four-year, $75 million contract extension that’ll begin with the start of next season.

He has averaged 18.5 points, 12.4 rebounds and five assists this season for Indiana.
