One of four men charged with marijuana store robberies in Denver pleaded guilty Thursday and was sentenced up to 12 years in prison.

Tayone Givens, 21, pleaded guilty in Denver District Court to two counts of aggravated robbery, one count for two separate robberies of the same business. He was sentenced to 12 and 10 years in prison, with the terms running concurrently, according to the district attorney’s office. Restitution, as part of the sentence, will be determined at a later date.

Givens and codefendants were charged in a July 28, 2017, armed robbery of the Green Dragon marijuana store, 5130 E. Colfax Ave., from which cash and marijuana products were robbed.

The same business was robbed, also at gunpoint, on Aug. 14, 2017, the release said. A GPS tracker planted in the stolen money led police to the suspects.

Givens and co-defendants Thomas Wilson, 23, and Myles Stephens, 29, were charged in both robberies. Marrell Jones, 26, was charged in the August robbery.

Jones pleaded guilty in January to one count of robbery and is scheduled to be sentenced July 2. Stephens is scheduled for jury trials June 25 and July 16 in his two cases. Wilson is scheduled to appear in court July 6 for disposition hearings in connection with his two cases.
