The Flash may have left us with the cliffiest of cliffhangers when it revealed Nora Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) had traveled back in time to see her parents, Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton), but that wasn’t the only lose end from Season 4: What about Killer Frost’s (Danielle Panabaker) fate?!

Caitlin and Killer Frost finally managed to find some balance between their dual identities in Season 4, creating a symbiotic (even kind of loving) relationship. Though they couldn’t speak face to face (the drawbacks of inhabiting the same body), Caitlin and Killer Frost managed to develop a close bond that fans instantly fell in love with — even if all that bonding technically took place off screen.

“I wish we’d seen it,” Danielle Panabaker told TV Guide of the adorable, unseen story arc. “Hopefully there’s more time for it in Season 5.”

In order for that to happen, we’ve got to bring Killer Frost back to life first, so to speak. When DeVoe (Neil Sandilands) “killed” her in his quest for enlightenment, Killer Frost disappeared, and though Caitlin tried everything she could think of, she couldn’t bring her new bestie back. Don’t worry, though, the search for Killer Frost is a journey Caitlin will still be on in Season 5!

“I’m really excited for Season 5 because I think they’re finally really going to delve into where [Killer Frost] came from and how she came to be, and hopefully we’ll get to learn a little bit more about her and her motivations,” Panabaker said. “And then hopefully she and Caitlin can figure out how to coexist.”

Hopefully that path to co-existence will give us at least one scene of Caitlin and Killer Frost together, finally having a face to face meeting. It’s a tall order, considering how much crazy meta-science it would require for both of them to be in the same place at the same time, but it would hardly be the craziest thing The Flash has ever done. Though she wouldn’t reveal if that kind of scene was on the way in Season 5, Panabaker did seem enthusiastic about playing two roles in the same scene if the option arises.

“Oh, one hundred percent,” Panabaker said. “It’s fun to do stuff like that so yes, absolutely!”

The Flash will returns Tuesdays, October 9 at 8/7c on The CW.
