ABC has decided not to air next week’s episode of The Proposal after a male contestant was accused of aiding in the sexual assault of a woman in November 2017.

In a joint statement to Deadline, ABC and Warner Horizon confirmed that they have decided to review the situation but will pull the second episode of the reality dating series, which features the accused contestant, from broadcast. “While the accusation was not related to the contestant’s appearance on the program, we take it very seriously. ABC and the producers of The Proposal are pulling the episode while this matter is under review,” the statement read.

Erica Denae Meshke came forward Thursday in an emotional Facebook post alleging that Michael J. Friday connected with her through Tinder and then invited her to the entertainment room of an apartment complex where she says one of his friends spiked her drink before sexually assaulting her.

“When I arrived, it was just him and two other 50ish year-old men whom he referred to as his ‘friends’. They poured me a drink, and then I was left alone with the two older men. The original guy never came back, despite me calling and texting. I was told by his friends that he would be back soon. So while I waited, I accepted another drink, which I know now was spiked. I was taken to an apartment upstairs by one of the older men, and the things I endured for the next 5 hours were unspeakable,” she wrote.

Meshke also alleged that she ran into Friday at a bar after the incident and got into a heated confrontation when he tried to justify his actions.

The Proposal comes from The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss and follows 10 women who vie for love with a mystery suitor. Former contestant Jesse Palmer serves as the host. The news also follows the revelation that current The Bachelorette contestant Lincoln Adim was convicted of indecent assault and battery in May for a 2016 incident.
