President Donald Trump on Wednesday blasted a New York Times story that said he got millions of dollars from his father through tax dodges, calling it “boring” and a “hit piece.”
SWING AT TIMES AFTER INVESTIGATION
In slamming the Times’ investigation, Trump said the newspaper did something he’d never seen done before. “They used the concept of ‘time value of money’ in doing a very old, boring and often told hit piece on me,” he wrote on Twitter. The Times found Trump got $413 million in today’s dollars from his father Fred Trump’s real-estate empire — much of it through tax dodges in the 1990s.
Charles Harder, a lawyer for Trump, told the Times that “there was no fraud or tax evasion by anyone.” The state of New York, meanwhile, began an investigation following the report.

‘BLOWOUT NUMBERS’ HAILED
Trump also hailed what he called “blowout numbers” on new jobs and services, following reports Wednesday morning. “Market up!” he tweeted. The Dow Jones Industrial Average

Automatic Data Processing Inc. reported that private-sector employment soared in September, as employers added 230,000 jobs. It was the highest hiring rate since February. Separately, the Institute for Supply Management’s survey of nonmanufacturing firms climbed to a postrecession high of 61.6 in September from 58.5.

DEMOCRATS ‘VICIOUS AND DESPICABLE’ ON KAVANAUGH
A day after mocking Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser Christine Blasey Ford, Trump said voters were angry at the “vicious and despicable” way Democrats are treating his Supreme Court nominee.
“I see it each time I go out to Rallies in order to help some of our great Republican candidates,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
Democrats and Republicans alike criticized Trump on Wednesday after he mocked Ford for not being able to remember details of the sexual-assault incident she alleges occurred more than 30 years ago. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said that Trump was “stating the facts” during his rally Tuesday night.
