A hawk gave new meaning to the term “early bird” traveler.
A red-shouldered hawk was safely captured Christmas Eve at New York Penn Station by a detective with the NYPD Emergency Service Unit.
In a tweet, NYPD Special Ops jokingly said the hawk “attempted to beat the holiday rush last night but missed the train.”
Authorities say the bird was not injured.
It is unclear where the bird came from.
