WINDSOR, England — The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, an American actress, on Saturday is expected to draw half a million people to Windsor, England, and to be followed live by millions around the world.
The union, after all, represents more than the love of two people: It is a coming together of British nobility and the American dream, a sign of an ever-changing royal family and an opportunity for Britain to bask in celebratory attention for a few days (not to mention to sell a fair number of commemorative plates, teacups and postcards).
