BUFFALO, N.Y.  –

ACV has chosen a new tech leader for its digital automotive marketplace and data services platform. Bahman Koohestani, with over 25 years of leadership experience across a wide range of industries, including technology and data analytics, is the company’s new chief technology officer.

ACV explained the new CTO will be responsible for leading the company’s continued charge in the used-car industry through data, technology, automation and machine learning innovation via its tech and product team.

Koohestani has held the CTO role at the following companies, as well: Lending Club, Thomson Reuters and NexTag. He has also held executive roles at other leading technology and fintech companies, including PayPal Inc. and Orbitz Worldwide.

Further – his experience dates back to some very early advancements in modern technology. In fact, ACV shared that Koohestani started his career at Netscape in 1995, where he and his team played a role in commercializing the web and created one of the first-ever web browsers.

“The addition of Bahman to our team comes at a pivotal time as ACV continues on its high growth trajectory while focused on empowering our dealer and commercial partners with best in class data and digital technology,” said ACV chief executive officer George Chamoun, in a press release. “With Bahman’s leadership, we will continue to deliver on our mission to bring trust and transparency to the used vehicle marketplace, enable our customers to buy, sell and value of vehicles with confidence and efficiency and support them with other value-added products and services.”

ACV said that this new hire is a part of its efforts to double down on its “tech recruitment initiatives and investment in furthering innovation.”

Koohestani most recently served as CTO and chief product officer at LendingClub, where he led financial credit and fitness products for their members and customers, heading up all technology, data warehousing and platforms, technology operations, and product and design.

“I am thrilled to join an organization that is highly committed to innovating for its customers, which comes across in each team member’s dedication to the company, its mission and values,” said Koohestani in the hire announcement. “The technological development potential of ACV’s marketplace is huge, and I’m eager to explore all the ways we can leverage ACV’s data for the benefit of our commercial and dealer partners.”
