Auto Finance News is pleased to announce that Doug Timmerman, president of auto finance at Ally Financial, will the joining the speaker faculty at the 2020 Auto Finance Summit for a fireside chat on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m. ET.

The 2020 Summit will take place as a Virtual Experience Oct. 20-22. Click here for the full agenda.

Timmerman, who was named the Auto Finance Newsinaugural executive of the year in 2019, will discuss the economy, innovation, industry trends and fresh growth ideas heading into 2021 in a dynamic one-on-one discussion. Timmerman took the helm of Ally’s auto division in 2018, and has put an added emphasis on customer experience — both for its consumer and dealer partners — as the lender has grown its auto book to $81.1 billion.

In fact, Timmerman has been with Ally for nearly his entire career, including when it was known as General Motors Acceptance Corp. prior to the credit crisis. Since 1986, he’s held leadership roles as vice president of auto finance for the southeast region in Atlanta, and was responsible for sales, risk management and portfolio management for more than 4,000 dealerships across 11 states. In 2014, he was promoted to president of Ally Insurance.

“I’ve done every job in the business at least once, maybe even a couple of times,” Timmerman previously told AFN.

Timmerman’s fireside chat will be followed by a session on economic scenarios and the future of auto sales, and a workshop exploring ideas for supporting dealers aiming to reignite the auto industry.
