What would a Murder HouseCoven crossover season be without Vivien and Ben Harmon? Thankfully, we’ll probably never have to find out because Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott will return for American Horror Story: Apocalypse, Variety reports.

Britton hasn’t appeared on AHS since Murder House, although she’s continued to work with Ryan Murphy on The People v. O.J. Simpson and 9-1-1.This will be the first time McDermott has returned to AHS since Asylum, in which he played Johnny Morgan, aka Bloody Face 2.0. But to most fans, Britton and McDermott will always be Vivien and Ben Harmon, the (unhappily) married couple who had the misfortune of moving into the haunted murder house in the anthology’s first season.

Sarah Paulson’s New American Horror StoryCharacter Is Seriously Creeping Us Out

FX won’t confirm or comment on whether Britton and McDermott will be playing their Murder House roles, but would Murphy truly be cruel enough to dangle them in front of us like this and not deliver? Maybe, but we doubt it. Even if both actors take on new parts this season, we’re betting they’ll do at least a scene or two as their ghostly original roles.

With the news of Britton and McDermott’s return, it really does appear as though the whole Murder House gang is back together this season. Jessica Lange will return for a very special episode as Constance Langdon, one of Sarah Paulson‘s many parts this season will be Billie Dean Howard and Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe and Frances Conroy will also return — although, again, it hasn’t been confirmed whether the three actors will play their Murder House characters just yet (Conroy has been already confirmed to be playing her Coven character Myrtle Snow, but she could be taking on multiple roles like Paulson).

The last time we saw the Harmons, Vivien, Ben and Violet (Farmiga) were living out their afterlife trapped in the Murder House after Vivien gave birth to Tate Langdon’s (Peters) son, Michael, who just so happens to be the Antichrist and will now be played by Cody Fern. In addition to the Harmons and Tate, the Murder House is also still home to several other ghosts, including Nora Montgomery (Lily Rabe), Hayden McClaine (Kate Mara), Moira O’Hara (Conroy and Alexandra Breckenridge) and also Elizabeth Short (Mena Suvari).

If this season is basically just setting up a storyline where ghosts and witches team up to take on the Devil, we wouldn’t be half surprised but we would be pretty into it. Then again, let’s be real, Hayden would totally be on the Devil’s side.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse premieres Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 10/9c on FX.
