Anthony Bourdain Death: CNN Pays Tribute to the Parts Unknown Host with Parts Unknown Marathon – Today’s News: Our Take

Anthony Bourdain, host of CNN’s food and travel show Parts Unknown, died June 8 of suicide. CNN confirmed his death Friday morning, and immediately tributes from Bourdain’s colleagues at the network began flooding social media. They shared memories, quotes and entreaties to live like Bourdain, with many also encouraging anyone struggling with depression to seek help.

In a memo to staff obtained by Deadline, CNN president Jeff Zucker called Bourdain “an exceptional talent. A storyteller. A gifted writer. A world traveler. An adventurer. He brought something to CNN that no one else had ever brought before. Tony will be greatly missed, not only for his work but also for the passion with which he did it.”

Hollywood Remembers Anthony Bourdain

CNN will pay tribute to the late chef all weekend long starting with a special called Remembering Anthony Bourdain, which will air Friday, June 8 at 10/9c. The network will then host a marathon of Bourdain’s favorite Parts Unknown episodes Saturday night starting at 8/7c.

A new episode of Parts Unknown, which features Bourdain traveling to Berlin, will air at its scheduled time of 9/8c on Sunday and include a special introduction by Anderson Cooper. That will be followed by a repeat of Remembering Anthony Bourdain at 10/9c.
