Pelicans star Anthony Davis was back in the starting lineup after a two-game absence, but New Orleans fell 131-121 to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
Davis, who was held out of the Pelicans’ past two games because of a sprained right elbow, played 41 minutes and scored 17 points on 6-of-16 shooting to go with 12 rebounds and seven assists.
Head coach Alvin Gentry said earlier in the week that Davis’ elbow sprain wasn’t considered “any big deal” but that the team didn’t want to take any chances, considering it’s so early in the season.
After opening the season 4-0, New Orleans has lost three straight.
