Barnes Group profit up, but misses estimates
Barnes Group Inc. B Friday said third-quarter earnings increased 15% on higher organic sales and acquisition sales. The Connecticut-based manufacturer of engineered products reported a profit of $39.1 million, or 75 cents a share, compared to $35.3 million, or 65 cents a share, a year earlier. Adjusted for items, Barnes reported per-share earnings of 78 cents, below the 81 cents expected by analysts polled by FactSet.
