Pumpernickel bread, tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh dill, fresh chives, and smoked salmon, for serving

  1. In food processor, puree cream cheese with sour cream until very smooth.
  2. Add scallion, black and/or white sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic powder, and coarsely ground black pepper and pulse just to combine. (Can be made up to 1 day ahead. Remove from refrigerator half an hour before serving.)
  3. Transfer to bowl and top with additional scallions and seeds. Serve with pumpernickel bread, tomatoes, cucumbers, chopped fresh chives, and smoked salmon if desired.
