RICHMOND, Va. –

Former KAR Global executive and TradeRev president Becca Polak has joined CarLotz as its first chief commercial officer and general counsel.

Polak joins the senior management team at CarLotz, which recently announced plans to go public through a merger with special purpose acquisition company Acamar Partners Acquisition Corp.

She reports to co-founder and chief executive officer Michael Bor.

“On behalf of the entire CarLotz team, I am delighted to welcome Becca to the team,” Bor said in a news release. “I’ve known Becca and admired her work at KAR Global and TradeRev for many years.

“Her experience as an entrepreneurial business leader with deep knowledge of the used vehicle and remarketing industry, will be instrumental in driving ongoing growth for CarLotz, as we look toward national expansion and the Company’s next phase.”

In her new role as CCO, Polak will lead the company’s commercialization initiatives, including the CarLotz hub network rollout, corporate vehicle sourcing partner development and new client acquisition; and in her role as general counsel, she will manage legal operations at CarLotz.

The new roles were effective Oct. 30.

Before joining CarLotz, Polak was president of TradeRev, a KAR subsidiary, a role she was appointed to in 2017. She also had led legal operations at KAR since 2007, a role she held concurrently with her TradeRev presidency.

Polak was also one of Auto Remarketing’s 2015 Women in Remarketing honorees.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be joining a pioneering company at such a pivotal moment in its growth trajectory,” Polak said. “I look forward to working closely with Mike and the exceptionally talented team at CarLotz, to expanding and scaling the business, and to providing commercial consignors with more value for their vehicles together with a frictionless customer-centric experience.”
