Dallas Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis has agreed to a one-year, fully guaranteed deal to rejoin the team, according to his agent, Johnny Hamood.

Lewis was able to return from a significant right foot injury suffered in 2022 and earned the team’s Ed Block Courage Award last season. He essentially had his foot rebuilt with a series of screws that led to a long rehab process that continued until the 2023 season started.

After sitting out the season opener, Lewis, 28, manned the slot — a spot he has held since the Cowboys took him in the third round of the 2017 draft — and played in the final 16 games, making eight starts.

Lewis’ return was made even greater when starter Trevon Diggs was lost for the season to a torn ACL before Week 3. The Cowboys moved DaRon Bland to outside cornerback, which resulted in an NFL-leading nine interceptions and a record five touchdown returns for Bland.

Lewis finished last season with 52 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 fumble recoveries, a team-high 3 forced fumbles, an interception and 5 pass breakups.

In 99 games with the Cowboys, Lewis has 9 interceptions, 8.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss.
