Netflix’s heavily anticipated Dark Crystal prequel series, Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, screened its first episode to the Hall H crowd at San Diego Comic-Con, and dear reader, the screams and applause were deafening. If you were worried about the series failing to live up to the original Jim Henson movie, don’t be.

Age of Resistance is a prequel to the 1982 classic fantasy film, and it honors the original by using all puppetry instead of computer animation. That’s impressive enough as it is, but now add in an all-star voice cast including [deep breath] Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nathalie Emmanuel, Caitriona Balfe, Helena Bonham-Carter, Harris Dickinson, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Toby Jones, Shazad Latif, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, Alicia Vikander, Harvey Fierstein, Mark Hamill, Ralph Ineson, Jason Isaacs, Keegan-Michael Key, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Simon Pegg, Andy Samberg, and Lena Headey. How could you not want to watch it?

Not all those people were actually in attendance for the Comic-Con panel, as only Tegerto and Hamill took to the stage, along with executive producer Lisa Henson and director Louis Leterrier. Also, a making-of documentary will come out after the show, showing us exactly how the prequel was brought to life — but everything about that is still TBA, and no airdate has been announced yet.

Hamill (who plays the Skeksis the Scientist) also teased his voice for the series, which you can hear in one of his latest tweets:

The first episode was also screened for the crowd, and while we’re not allowed to say exactly what we saw, the response on Twitter has been incredibly positive.

Dark Crystal: The Age of Resistance premieres on Aug. 30.
