Game of Thrones might be over on HBO, but HBO isn’t finished throwing more Game of Thrones content your way. The premium network is reportedly close to ordering a pilot for a prequel series centered on Westeros’ most incestuous house, the Targaryens, according to Deadline.

Set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the potential series would be based on George R.R. Martin‘s novel Fire & Blood and chronicle the gradual downfall of the white-haired dragon overlords. The project comes from Martin and Colony co-creator Ryan Condal, who are expected to executive-produce. According to Deadline, this is a new take on a world originally tackled by Bryan Cogman, who confirmed earlier this year that his prequel was not moving forward.

The Targaryens’ history was briefly touched on in the original series and produced some of the show’s juiciest storylines, including Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) true identity, so an entire series dedicated to their tawdry family drama feels like an easy win. Is this going to be the next Succession but with unbelievably beautiful people who look like elves but are actually human? Nope. But do we hope it’s even remotely close to that? Absolutely!

As it stands, Jon Snow, whose birth name is Aegon Targaryen, is presumably the last living Targaryen after he killed Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) in the series finale.

The potential series is one of three spin-offs in the works, including the one written by Jane Goldman and starring Naomi Watts, which filmed a pilot this summer.

HBO declined to comment, but we’re holding out hope that this one actually comes to fruition.
