The Hyatt Regency Phoenix in
downtown Phoenix is undergoing a massive renovation of everything from its lobby and meeting rooms to the guest rooms, third-floor pool deck and rooftop.
It’s the 44-year-old hotel’s first renovation in 10 years, reports The Arizona Republic, which is part of the USA TODAY Network.
The hotel is across the street from the Phoenix Convention Center and is walking distance to entertainment, museums and shops. It also touts a revolving rooftop restaurant
Here’s a sneak peek at what you can expect to see once the scaffolding and construction clear when the update is completed in January.
New guest rooms
The 693 guest rooms and suites have new lighting and flooring and digital artwork. The decor reflects what the Hyatt Regency is calling a “bold and colorful Southwest look, feel and vibe.”
New restaurants and patio
Barrel & Bushel will open Dec. 26 and offers a refined “American comfort” menu along with craft beers. It will open up to a street-side patio decorated with a mural offering Instagrammable opportunities for those so inclined.
To target the downtown lunch crowd, the hotel also will have a new grab-and-go market with ready-to-go and quickly made-to-order sandwiches, salads and other dishes.
