Loveland police on Tuesday arrested 36-year-old Christopher David Park of Loveland on suspicion of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, charges which according to Larimer County court records correspond with two shootings that occurred June 3, 2015.
One shooting was the unsolved killing of Lovelander William Connole, who was shot. In the other a motorcyclist in Loveland was shot at but not struck by gunfire.
There are no records of another murder or attempted murder on that date, aside from those for which Park has been accused.
Larimer County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. David Moore did not confirm this connection, but the Northern Colorado Shooting Task Force has scheduled a press conference Thursday to update the media on the six incidents investigated by group.
The task force is devoted to solving a string of six random shootings around Northern Colorado, including the two in Loveland. Moore also acts as spokesman for the shooting task force.
The task force was formed in May 2015 after officials linked the killing of bicyclist John Jacoby in Windsor and the April 2015 wounding of Cori Romero, who was shot in the neck while driving on Interstate 25.
The task force also is investigating the death of 65-year-old Connole in Loveland and the incident in which the motorcyclist was shot at 2 miles away that same day.
Two other moving cars were shot at on northern Colorado roads the same week that Romero was wounded.
