A man has apparently jumped from the Route 9 bridge in Freehold, New Jersey, after allegedly murdering his wife, law enforcement sources say.
According to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, authorities are investigating the crime as a possible murder-suicide.
Sources tell NBC 4 New York that the man allegedly killed his wife in their Freehold home, drove to the bridge over the Raritan River where they believe he jumped.
Authorities are currently searching for his body.
The couple had three daughters — all in their teens, according to a neighbor. Sources say the girls were not hurt.
