A train passenger pulled a knife on another man and threatened to kill him after the man admonished him for hitting his child, sources said.
The 45-year-old victim was riding an uptown E train in Manhattan with his wife and five-year-old daughter around 3:30 p.m. on June 24 when he saw the other passenger hit his own child, who was riding in a stroller, law enforcement sources said.
After the 45-year-old expressed disapproval, the passenger started to threaten him, police said.
“It’s my kid — worry about your f—ing kid,” the passenger told the man at some point during the incident, according to law enforcement sources. “I will kill you on this train.”
“I promise you I will change your life,” the passenger added.
Video taken inside the subway car shows the passenger with the stroller pull out a knife and shout as he holds open the train doors.
The passenger spits at the 45-year-old just before exiting the train, the video shows.
Police are now searching for the knife-wielding passenger, who was last seen wearing a red t-shirt.
