The decision to move all of Dick Wolf’s Chicago series to Wednesday nights has apparently paid off.

Per Deadline, NBC has decided to tack on an additional two episodes of each of the Chicago series — Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med — which will boost them to 22 episodes apiece in their current seasons. That’s more in line with what the shows had previously enjoyed in the way of episode orders, only dipping below the 22-episode mark when some seasons premiered mid-season.

The network moved the three Chicago series to Wednesday nights this season in an effort to streamline viewership for all three shows, a la TGIT, and effectively avoided any awkward run-ins with the Shondaland debut of another fire department drama, Station 19. Oh, and also for its epic crossovers.

The fall finales of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. air Wednesday, Dec. 5 starting at 8/7c on NBC.
