Netflix has renewed the sexy, soapy, prep school teen drama/crime thriller (whew) Elite for a second season, Deadline reports. The Spanish import will return for eight more episodes in 2019.
Elite, which premiered on Oct. 5 and quickly caught on with teen drama fans all over the world, tells the story of three working class kids who get scholarships to Las Encinas, the most exclusive boarding school in Spain. The school’s wealthy students have very different lifestyles than Samuel (Itzan Escamilla), Nadia (Mina El Hammani) and Christian (Miguel HerrΓ‘n), and the tension between the different value systems eventually leads to murder.
The series is created and written by Carlos Montero and DarΓo Madrona and directed by RamΓ³n Salazar and Dani de la Orden.
