New Amsterdam, NBC’s feel-good, semi-woke new medical procedural, is the season’s first new show to get a full season order, TV Guide has learned. NBC has ordered nine additional episodes, bringing Season 1 to a full run of 22 episodes.

New Amsterdam is the second-highest rated new series of the season so far, behind only Manifest, another NBC show. It’s averaging a 1.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.6 million viewers overall through its first three episodes, and its audience grows to an average of 14.1 million viewers after accounting for delayed viewing.

The series stars The Blacklist alum Ryan Eggold as Dr. Max Goodwin, the new medical director at one of New York’s biggest, most complex hospitals, as he tries to fight bureaucracy and bring medical care back to the people. Janet Montgomery, Freema Agyeman and Jocko Sims co-star.

New Amsterdam airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
