Ryan Murphy Pose Gets a Premiere Date, Trailer – Today’s News: Our Take

Ryan Murphy‘s groundbreaking ball culture series is headed to television this summer.

Pose is slated to premiere Sunday, June 3 at 9/8c on FX. This series was co-created by Brad Falchuk, Steven Canals and Murphy, who will direct the first two episodes.

Taking place in the ’80s, the story centers around the juxtaposition of different segments of New York society including the rise of luxe living and the ball scene. Evan Peters and Kate Mara star as Stan and Patty, a New Jersey couple that gets sucked into the glamour and intrigue NYC. James Van Der Beek is set to play Peters’ boss Matt, a financial kingpin.

The series features the largest LGBT cast in scripted television history with trans actresses MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar, and Angelica Ross among those set to star. Trans rights activist Janet Mock, musician Our Lady J and Mr. Robot production manager Erica Kay will also serve as producers.

Season 1, which consists of eight episodes, heads to FX on Sunday, June 3 at 9/8c.
