After almost a decade on the show, Sara Gilbert is getting ready to leave The Talk, a show she co-created back in 2010.

At the start of Tuesday’s episode, she announced to the rest of her co-hosts and viewers that, “This is something that I have been struggling with for a while, and going back and forth, but I’ve decided that it’s time for me to leave the show at the end of this season.”

Citing her schedule, Gilbert explained that between filming The Talk and ABC’s The Conners, it left her with little time to spend with her family, and her life was “slightly out of balance.”

“I’m starting to develop more things to produce, and I’m having opportunities to act. I don’t know how I’m going to do it all,” She continued.

Fighting back visible tears, she also took time to note that The Talk has been a great place for her for the last nine years. “I love the hosts, I love the crew, I love our staff. I’m so grateful to the audience for letting me in your homes every day. It’s been such an honor.”

Gilbert also promised that she would make time to return to the show as a guest host, joking, “you’re not going to get rid of me, I’ll be around.”
