Malec and Clace may have dominated the shipping storylines on Shadowhunters for the last three years, but it sounds like Season 3B will definitely be Sizzy’s time to shine!

Though fans have always been invested in seeing a romantic storyline between Simon (Alberto Rosende) and Izzy (Emeraude Toubia), they’ve remained firmly in the friends category thus far. Their bond is stronger than ever now, though, especially given that Izzy was the person Simon leaned on when he had to officially sever ties with his mother, leaving her to believe he was dead. According to Rosende and Toubia, the closeness they’ve developed through all of their trials might finally point Sizzy in the right direction as we enter the final stretch of episodes.

“The way that Isabelle was there for Simon in his time of need, very similar to the way that he was there for her when she was going through her addiction, those are very strong ties that really bring people together,” Rosende told TV Guide when we visited the set of the series finale last fall. “Then because of all the craziness that goes down in the world, they find more opportunities to be in the same room, and their connection has always been kind of electric, so I guess you can do that math.”

It doesn’t take a genius to calculate that result, but we’ll still double and triple cross our fingers that we’ll see these two explore what their relationship could be rather than what it’s always been.

If there’s one person more psyched than all the Sizzy shippers on Twitter for Sizzy to officially happen, it’s Emeraude Toubia. She’s been a vocal supporter of the Sizzy movement for years, and when we asked her about their dynamic in the final episodes, she was more than happy to share some juicy teasers for back half of the season.

“It’s going to be a Sizzy season,” Toubia said. “I’m so happy because fans are finally going to see them together. They grow to know each other and see things in each other that maybe they didn’t see before … and it’s going to get so heated. There’s going to be a lot of heat, a lot of fire.”
