Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs plans to end his holdout and report back to the team, league sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter, on a one-year, reworked deal that could be worth up to $12 million.
The contract also features per-game roster bonuses, according to sources.
Jacobs, 25, has missed all of training camp while holding out. He and the Raiders failed to reach agreement on a new long-term deal before the July deadline, and Jacobs did not sign his franchise tag, which had been worth $10.1 million.
He has been in Las Vegas and is ready to get to work, sources told Schefter. Jacobs tweeted Saturday, “I’m back.”
Fellow disgruntled running back Saquon Barkley also initially declined to sign his franchise tag, but in late July agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Giants that adjusted the tag.
A first-round pick of the Raiders in 2019, Jacobs did not have his fifth-year option picked up by Las Vegas last year and responded with the best season of his career. He led the NFL in rushing yards (1,653) and yards from scrimmage (2,053) while catching 53 passes for a career-high 400 yards. His 12 rushing touchdowns also tied a career high.
Jacobs was not subject to any fines for missing training camp because he did not sign his franchise tag and was not under contract.
