The end of an era is officially upon us. USA announced the final season premiere date forSuits, which has been a flagship drama for the network for almost a decade. However, the sad news comes with the highlight that the Suits spin-off, Pearson, starring Gina Torres, will be premiering on the same night. As one door closes, another door opens.
Suits Season 9 will kick off on Wednesday, July 17 with Pearson following right behind. According to USA, the final season of Suits will dig into the core characters’ personal lives “more than ever before,” which means that we’ll be getting a full season of Donna (Sarah Rafferty) and Harvey (Gabriel Macht) after an eight-season wait. Dreams really do come true! At the same time, the lawyers of Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams (good lord), will have to work overtime to repair the firm’s reputation after Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) took the fall for Harvey at the end of Season 8.

Pearson will follow Jessica’s (Torres) adventures in Chicago, working for the potentially corrupt mayor after being disbarred by his city attorney (Bethany Joy Lenz). Jessica will have to navigate the seedy underbelly of Chicago politics to try and make a safer community for her estranged family, with whom she deeply wants to reconnect. However, the deeper she gets entrenched in Chicago politics, the harder it becomes to see which side she’s really playing for.
Suits kicks off its farewell tour Wednesday, July 17 at 9/8c with Pearson premiering immediately after at 10/9c on USA.
