PHILADELPHIA — Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul was ruled out for the second half of Monday night’s game against the 76ers with right heel soreness.

There never appeared to be an obvious play on which Paul — who had two points, two assists and two rebounds in 14 minutes in the first half — injured his heel, and he didn’t enter the game with any designation on Phoenix’s injury report.

Paul entered Monday having played in all nine of Phoenix’s games this season, averaging 10.3 points and an NBA-leading 10.2 assists.

Now in his 18th NBA season, Paul, who will turn 38 in May, is a 12-time All-Star and 11-time All-NBA selection, including being named to the All-NBA second team in 2020 and ’21 before being named to the third team last year.

Phoenix also is adjusting to life without starting power forward Cameron Johnson, who the team announced Sunday had suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee. Veteran forward Torrey Craig started in Johnson’s place Monday, with coach Monty Williams saying several options could be used there in the days and weeks ahead while Johnson is sidelined, including forwards Dario Saric and Damion Lee and center Jock Landale.
